Learn to freedive in
the clearest water on earth.
A small, personal freediving center in Dahab, where warm, calm water does half the teaching for you. Beginner to advanced, at your pace.
Most people think freediving is about holding your breath. It's not.
It's about teaching your nervous system that stillness is safe.
What we see with our students is that the fastest progress rarely comes from the fittest divers. It comes from the ones who stop fighting the urge to breathe and let it pass.

Why Dahab makes it easier.
Learning to freedive is mostly about relaxing, and the water you're in decides how easy that is.
In Dahab it's around 26°C, with over 30 metres of visibility, no current and no waves.
And because we're based inside The Gate Hotel with our own pool, you can sleep, eat and train in one place. For sea sessions we drive out together with the gear.

In their words
You trust someone with your breath.
That trust is everything to us. Here is what divers say after training at The Gate Freediving.
I came in nervous about breath holding. By day two I was relaxed at 15 metres. The instructors never pushed, they just made it feel safe.
We opened in 2025 and are gathering our first reviews now. Dived with us? A few honest words on Google mean the world to a young center.

The Training Week.
Seven days, built around the water. Five diving days at the Lighthouse, a calm reef that drops to 50m, plus two dry days for breathing, equalisation, theory and stretching. Sleep at The Gate Hotel, wake up, head to the water, repeat.
Two intensities and three ways to stay, so it fits your level and your budget. When you want more, the Blue Hole nearby goes to 90m. This is how divers make a real jump in a single week.

Emilio & Liam.
Two friends, one place.
We're two Dutch friends who came to Dahab for scuba diving and never really left. Six years later, we've built The Gate Freediving together with Bassem.
We teach because we believe anyone can learn to be calm underwater. And because this reef deserves to still be here for the next generation. Our team speaks Dutch, English, Spanish and Arabic, so whoever you are, you'll feel at home.
Start with one breath.
No experience needed. Our introduction is a relaxed session in the pool, the easiest way to find out if freediving is for you.
